In our
35 year history we have honored 102
fathers who exemplify fine fatherhood
values in their own homes and as
business and community leaders. We
are proud to add three more exceptional
fathers to our list.
Father of the Year
Awards Founder and Apparel legend, Sylvan
Landau, passes away at age 85.
We mourn the loss of our founder, mentor and
dear friend, Sylvan Landau, who passed away
on May 9th. We will miss him greatly,
but cherish knowing that the legacy he
leaves as a father to his family, through
the Father of the Year Awards, numerous
charities he has nurtured and profound
impact on the apparel industry, will be long
enduring. Our thoughts and prayers are
with Sylvan's devoted wife Margie, his
children and the rest of his wonderful
family with whom he was always very close
and about whom he was ever proud. To
all his family and dear friends, we extend
our most sincere condolences. We will
have a special tribute to Sylvan at our
luncheon this year celebrating 35 years of
his great leadership and inspiration to
fathers.
The Sylvan Landau Founder's Scholarship
Award was established this year by a seed
grant from the Dallas Market Center to honor
Sylvan and his lifetime of helping children,
families and others in need in our
community. If you would like to make a
donation to his scholarship fund in honor of
Sylvan, you may do so by noting that with
your donation sent by mail or by the "Donate"
link below (using the "special message for

The Father of the Year
Scholarship fund was established in 2007 to
make a difference in the lives of young
adults by assisting with funding for a
quality education for students in financial
need who have achieved an average degree of
academic excellence.
